The 29th Session of the GEWEX Scientific Steering Group (SSG) is being hosted by Drs. Xin Li and Wenjie Dong will host the meeting at the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Sanya Center of Remote Sensing of Digital Earth in Sanya, Hainan Province, China from 6-10 February 2017. This session of the SSG will address both responses to advice resulting from the latest WCRP Joint Scientific Committee (JSC) meeting and developments in WCRP and global programs. We will assess progress towards new data sets and goals, and the actions required to advance the GEWEX Grand Science Questions and synthesize water and energy cycle science across the Panels.
