Space Agency Event

The Space Agency Event, part of the programming for the 9th Global Energy and Water Exchanges (GEWEX) Open Science Conference (OSC), occurs the day before the start of the 9th GEWEX OSC. This unique opportunity is partly intended to facilitate engagement between Early Career Researchers and representatives from space agencies across the globe.

It will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 13:00 until 18:30, and will conclude with an informal reception sponsored by JAXA starting at 17:10. The day will begin with overview presentations from the various agencies, followed by several breakout sessions to allow for direct interaction with the representatives. The program is listed below.

Notes on the Parallel Breakout Sessions: 
Each panel consists of four members plus one chair, and includes agency representatives and scientists. The purpose of the breakout discussion is to facilitate a Question&Answer session between space agencies and scientists on the four topics below.

Each parallel session will address the overarching question of “how do we make these measurements and integrate them with Earth system modeling?”. The four topics for the breakout sessions are:
